Estate Planning
Estate Planning is the process whereby individuals prepare for future contingencies such as death or incapacity. This is done through documents such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney and living wills. Estate planning involves deciding how your estate, or property, will be distributed upon your death and deciding who will handle that job and who will care for you if you are incapacitated and unable to care for yourself. For individuals with a high net worth, estate planning will also involve taking steps to reduce or eliminate estate taxes through lifetime giving, charitable giving and taking full advantage of the exemptions provided under the law.
