Government Data Shows 200,000 Tractor Trailers Violating Law

An analysis of government data released this summer shows that more than 28,000 companies representing more than 200,000 trucks are currently operating in violation of federal safety laws.  The violations include defective brakes, bad tires, loads that exceed weight limits and drivers with little or no training and have drug or alcohol dependency.  The data was obtained from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and included over a million lines of data analysis.  West Virginia, North Dakota, Nebraska, Vermont and Iowa had the highest rate of companies in violaiton of federal safety requirements.  Truck accidents are often be the result of companies violating safety standards in an attempt to cut corners and maximize profits.  If you or a family member has been injured in a tractor trailer collission please call for a free consultation.
